    What is a SIPP?
SIPP is an acronym for Self-Invested Personal Pension. It is a pension scheme for the self-employed or those not in a company pension scheme to provide for their future retirement whilst, if they wish, retaining control of the investments, within Inland Revenue rules, rather than have to hand over investment control to an institution as in an insured pension scheme. They also can make some of the pension fund money work for their business, for example purchasing their office building or factory, whilst building for their retirement.
